Leading PIR insulation manufacturer plays host to local MP.

UK PIR insulation manufacturer Recticel has been praised by its local MP for its part in people, product and plant development.

Rob Flello, MP for Stoke on Trent South, has formally recognised that Recticel, the largest European PIR manufacturer, continues to invest in its UK manufacturing operation to ensure it remains a market leader.

He visited the companys 175,000ft2 facility in Stoke on Trent on Thursday 21st August when he was hosted by commercial director Kevin Bohea and plant manager Simon Harrison.

He spent time learning about the company's development and its recent multi-million £ investment in the plant, making it Europes most modern PIR manufacturing facility. Part of Recticel's investment is the creation of a new line with full rebating ability (allowing the production of even better-performing insulation) which is now fully operational.

This investment has led to the creation of 30 new jobs for local people this year alone.

A presentation by Kevin also detailed how the companys research and development programme has produced new products to assist with better-performing homes being built within existing footprints, while helping to reduce energy costs for the homeowner without the need to use costly or high-maintenance renewables on a new build.

Kevin said afterwards: “Tt is always a pleasure to welcome politicians to our facility. We openly welcome the opportunity to engage, help and advise on how the UK can achieve energy and carbon reduction goals by building better with a 'fabric first' approach."
