Slateware's Honed butter plate features natural green veining unique to every piece.

Dinner parties may be becoming less formal affairs but it's still good to make a statement with your tableware.

None less so than with the stunning veined butter plate from Slateware's* Honed Collection which features the natural green specking unique to the Penrhyn Quarry in North Wales where they are crafted, as well as to each individual plate.

Designed by two Michelin star chef Michael Caines and with a fine polished finish, the butter plate features a knife groove and salt well and includes a Robert Welch butter knife, all for £39.95 RRP.

The Honed butter plate can be wiped clean using soap and warm water, or for more thorough washing, is dishwasher safe. Light scratches can usually be lifted with a damp cloth, and to enhance the richness of the slate, a gentle coating of olive oil can be applied.

So whether it's for paté, cheese and biscuits or a jacket potato, Slateware has the butter plate to accommodate all tastes.

*Slateware is a range of four collections of luxury dinnerware crafted from natural Welsh Slate.
