Women in Property's sailing team (including TLC pr director Tracy Twitchin) has marked the organisation's 25th anniversary with a very respectable performance in this year's Little Britain Challenge Cup, coincidentally the 25th running of the construction industry regatta.

Carol Bell, WIP yacht crew captain and senior project manager at construction and property consultancy Robinson Low Francis, once again piloting 32ft X332 Ilex of Upnor from the Royal Engineers Yacht Club, for her and WIP's ninth consecutive campaign (and Tracy's fourth), drew together a multi-disciplinary team of six female built environment professionals from all over the UK.

The team chose 2012 to step up from cruising to racing class to enable them to use a spinnaker to gain extra ground among the larger yachts, scoring a high point of seventh in two of the five races and resulting in 9th place out of 13 in IRC Racing Class 3 and an overall top 50 finish.
The crew also successfully defended the group fancy dress prize at the apr├Ęs-sail Rio Carnival theme night, and more importantly, retained the PRC Fewster Cup for 50% Female crew, won by Women in Property every year since 2007.

To help celebrate WIP's 25th anniversary, Heather Powell, chairman of WIP's south east branch, and her husband David attended the gala prize giving dinner and were present to see the crew receive their trophy and pay tribute to the coaching and encouragement from pro skipper Nathan Fulcher.

Speaking as this year's new recruit to the team, Louisa Richter von Morgenstern, founder and director of project management consultancy RVM & Associates, said: “It has been a real privilege to sail in the Women in Property team in what is my seventh Little Britain.  I was hugely impressed by the very high level of team spirit and of course by our achievements.”
